About CECE:
The Spanish Confederation of Education and Training Centres (CECE) is a non-profit employers´ and professional organization founded in 1977. It represents an ample educational sector in Spain from nursery school to university level with federations in every region. It has 1320 primary schools among its members. The Institute of Education Technology (ITE) of CECE realizes its activities in four areas: (1) assistance in the implementation of the European Quality Assurance System in its member institutions; (2) organization of continuing training courses for teachers; (3) implementation of technological innovation in its members; (4) internationalization of the members. The Teacher Training Department of ITE develops continuous professional training (CPT) courses for teachers from all educational levels based on needs analysis and financed by different actors (European Social Fund, Autonomous Communities, Ministry of Education, employers contribution). The Antal number of teachers who participate in these CPT courses exceeds 10.000. The strategy line Leadership and quality management in schools represents 12% of the courses.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
CECE would perform an active role in the detection of best practices, case studies and training needs of primary schools heads and deputy heads. It would involve experts from Villanueva University Faculty of Education (member of CECE) for the design of further training modules and own staff for the ICT based communication platform of the project. It would mainstream outcomes nationally through the teacher training courses it organises and disseminate results internationally through the ESHA (European School Heads Association) network in which it holds membership. Outcomes would be also spread to schools that integrate its European Educational Network – a network of schools particularly active and participative as regards European cooperation and mobilities.
